Compiled list of ideas & suggestions

Bowling Alley:
-        Move our bowling alley to the ground floor with more lanes and better equipments as our existing system is old and it shows by increasing breakdown during games. Some of the spare parts are getting obsolete. It may cause more in the long run to repair. It is getting harder and more expensive as the year progress. It is a matter of time that the whole back end mechanical system be replaced. It would be wiser to do it sooner than later with a major move down to ground floor and the ideal bowling venue would be ground floor with larger open space for holding dinner as well as accommodating large crowd during major bowling events. It will also serve as a attraction for new membership.

-          If not possible to move to the ground floor,
(a)    Please install a elevator. It is not an issue if one just walk up and down empty handed via narrow staircase but it’s very inconvenient and strenuous for bowlers(esp adult bowlers and bowlers from other clubs during interclub league) to carry 25-40kg of bowling balls, shoes and accessories to the 2nd level. Not forgetting we have more senior citizens bowlers now.

(b)   Level up lane 1 as some bowlers tripped while trying to spare

(c)    Upgrade the oiling machine and system

(d)   Upgrade the computer system and PA system at the bowling alley

(e)    Provide a screen in the middle of the bowling alley and projector so that all can see the score especially during tournaments instead of having to go over to the corner.

(f)    Add a small mini bar if possible which is good especially during our weekly and interclub league and also tournaments. This bar can be operated during peak period

(g)   Upgrade the ball returning station to cater for more balls as currently many balls have to be placed on the floor which can be a eye sore and cause minor injury to bowlers should they trip over the balls. It also takes up walking space for bowlers

(h)   Provide more seats for spectators or supporters.

(i)     Upgrade the lockers as existing lockers are too little and small to accommodate newer type of bowling bags and new accessories.

Security:
-        We should install security camera to prevent abuse of equipments, facilities, unbecoming behavior, theft etc. At this present moment, it seems like any car can simply go in and out of our club. What about installing at the entrance and exit of our carpark and progress into the club house and open area of our facilities? A security company should be able to advise the right equipments.

Carpark:
-        Covered or sheltered carparks for members only

-        Install barriers with members’ car IU scan to prevent non-members from occupying the car park lots.

Pool:
-          too small to cater to larger crowd

Karaoke:
-          Should have at least two medium sized private rooms instead of existing one big room and better sound systems.

-          Should have cordless microphones

-          better choice of songs.

-          Our existing karaoke hall is too small

F&B:
-          Whenever there’s a event at Eagles’ View which is a nice air-conditioned restaurant with beautiful view, members do not have another air-conditioned restaurant to dine. Another alternative?

-          Terrace & Tavern are packed with long queue lately, shouldn’t we expand?

Social & Gym:
-          Simply too small with more members

-          Upgrade the gym equipments

-          Provide a bigger dance studio for Zumba, Aerobics, Pilates, Ballroom dance classes etc as the existing one can only accommodate around 8-10 people

Activities:
-          Should consider opening our facilities to less fortunate/ charity groups/surrounding community or schools during off peak hours to show we care

Other Suggestions:
1)      We should increase more social membership for short and long term revenue for the club

2)      Club would be more vibrant with increase of membership, thus we should cater more popular activities/sports such as zumba/pilates/social dance, Futsal, badminton etc..

3)      Renovate the male and female restrooms at the social side as it’s getting more dirty, smelly and old.

4)      New sauna, steambath and massage chairs

5)      Our club has a beautiful reservoir coast. If we could put up colourful lights at night along this edge, it would be very attractive and when people see them at night while driving along the road or in their condos or homes, they may yearn to check out our club and we may have potential members.

If all the above ideas are taken up and further refined, the value of our club membership would also increase. It’s a win win situation for all.
